I love working with Encaustic hot wax. Taking it to molten state, the wax flows onto the canvas or wood base with a soft brush and then is reheated to create imagery. My work has anywhere from 10 to 35 layers or more of hot wax per painting. The process requires reheating each later to bond to the previous layer, making it a slow process but very satisfying ~
